Polls Open for Election Primaries

Town hall is one of multiple polling places open today
Polls open this morning for primary election day ahead of the Nov. 3 general election. Polling places will be open from 6:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. Any voter in line at their assigned polling place at 7:30 p.m. will be allowed to vote.
The Republican ballot includes primaries for U.S. Senate, U.S. House District 14 and N.C. Court of Appeals Seat 1.
Democrats have a larger ballot, with contested races for U.S. Senate, U.S. House District 14, Mecklenburg County Board of Commissioners, Mecklenburg County sheriff and multiple judicial seats.
Who can vote in the primary?
Voters affiliated with a political party may vote only in that party’s primary. For example, a registered Republican may vote only in the Republican primary. Unaffiliated voters may choose one party’s ballot but may not vote in more than one primary.
