Jan. 15 – Nominations are now being accepted for the Crowns of Enterprise Awards, which recognize Mecklenburg County small businesses and entrepreneurs for strong leadership and effective business practices.

Created in 2011 by Mecklenburg County and the City of Charlotte, the awards highlight the contributions of local businesses and their role in supporting the county’s economy. The program also aims to strengthen connections between small businesses, elected officials and government agencies.

Winners will be honored during a May awards ceremony, with one business recognized in each of six categories, including leadership, innovation, youth and community service.

The nomination deadline is Friday, Jan. 23. The winners will be named during an awards ceremony in May 2026.
