Last chance to provide budget feedback to the town

Dec. 31. Today is the last day to complete a survey by the Town of Cornelius to help determine which budget items receive preference in coming fiscal year, which runs from July 1, 2026, to June 30, 2027..

The municipal budget includes funding for operational and capital projects throughout the fiscal year. Ultimately, the town budget determines about one-third of the property tax rate, with the county responsible for the remainder.

The survey takes about five minutes to complete. Respondents are asked to prioritize spending on budget items like transportation, parks, fire and safety, economic development, and affordable housing.
