7th annual Christmas boat parade set for Saturday

Dec. 19. The 7th annual Lake Norman Lighted Christmas Boat Parade returns this Saturday, Dec. 20, for what has become a unique tradition each holiday season and am opportunity to benefit children in need.

The parade takes off from Blythe Landing and travels to Ramsey Creek Park, the Peninsula Yacht Club and concludes at the Duke Energy Explorium. All four stops offer space for public viewing.

Following the parade, attendees can congregate at the Explorium to enjoy food trucks, caroling and a visit from Santa Claus. The event is free, but volunteers will collect unwrapped toys at every stop to benefit Little Smiles, a local charity that helps children in nearby hospitals undergoing cancer treatments.
