Weekly weather: Rain today, cold and clear the rest of the week

Dec. 8. This is our first forecast of the fall with weather that supports five days of soup. Top five soups in no particular order – gumbo, French onion, beef and noodle, sausage veggie tortellini and Zurek. My friend’s mom introduced to me Zurek a few years ago. It’s a Polish sour soup that is unlike anything you’ve ever eaten. Don’t tell her but I leave out the hard boiled eggs.

Today: Rain, mainly before noon. High near 38. Northeast wind 5 to 10 mph, with gusts as high as 18 mph. Chance of precipitation is 80%. North northeast wind 5 to 9 mph becoming light after midnight.
