Newsmakers Breakfast: Cornelius Parks & Recreation

Nov. 7. Registration closes on Tuesday for the next Newsmakers Breakfast that will be held Thursday morning Nov. 13 at The Peninsula Club.

Titled Greenspace & Growth, our featured speaker is Cornelius Parks & Recreation Executive Director Troy Fitzsimmons. For nearly 18 years, Troy has led our award-winning parks department that manages over 260 acres of developed parks, more than 120 acres of greenways and natural areas, and miles and miles of trails. Troy and his staff maintain strong community engagement through programs like adult and youth sports activities and passive activities such as walking, biking, and nature enjoyment, making them a central part of community life in Cornelius.

The Newsmakers Breakfast regularly brings together members of the Cornelius community to hear speakers discuss a range of topics, including the local economy, government, business, philanthropy and more.
