Rotary, Giving With Grace donate van to Neighborhood CARE Center

Sept. 25. Manny Rosado of the Neighborhood CARE Center formally took ownership yesterday of a Dodge van made possible by the North Mecklenburg Rotary Club and the Giving With Grace nonprofit.

The keys were presented to Rosado during the Rotary’s monthly luncheon at The Peninsula Club by Rotarians and Giving With Grace co-founder Robin Salzman.

Rosado and his staff primarily serve neighborhoods in and around Cornelius, helping low-income and underserved families, people needing language assistance, children who need tutoring, and adults seeking life-skills or job training.

The van will enable the center to deliver food to people dealing with food insecurity, provide moving services to families searching for affordable housing, pick up donations for the center’s vocational training program, and transport bikes for its youth biking program.

The van was purchased through fundraising efforts, including pickleball and golf tournaments and other community support.
