Police investigating death near marina

Dec. 17. UPDATED. Cornelius Police are investigating a death of a man, about 60 years old, near the Holiday Marina at the end of Henderson Road. The body of a man was apparently found in the water at the marina adjacent to the Rusty Rudder restaurant. Police said the call came in at 8:19 this morning. Police and fire boats were on the scene.

The victim has been identified but the name is being withheld pending notification of relatives. The cause of death is under investigation. There were no apparent signs of foul play,  according to police.
