Sept. 21. With Critical Race Theory a topic of discussion nationwide, Unity in Community North Mecklenburg (UiC) will hold a two-part virtual forum to discuss education in Charlotte Mecklenburg Schools.
Session 1: Wednesday, Sept. 29, from 6:30-8:00pm
Guest speakers include: NC Sen. Natasha Marcus, CMS Board Member Jennifer De La Jara, and CMS Assistant Superintendent off Academics Beth Thompson
Session 2: Wednesday, Oct. 20, from 6:30-8:00pm
Guest speakers include local school stakeholders, staff and students
UiC’s goal is to inform the community and educational stakeholders on the shaping of education in Mecklenburg County including the decision making process at a federal, state, and local level and the impact of those decisions.
