Art exhibit in honor of Black History Month

“Naturally Speaking: Royal Roots” by Bryan Wilson

Feb. 1. Works by Charlotte artist Bryan Wilson will be on display at Town Hall in February in honor of Black History Month.

Wilson, who has a Masters in Fine Arts from the Academy of Art University, exhibits his work throughout the US as well as at Foster’s Frame & Art in Huntersville and at Coffey & Thompson in Charlotte.

His work will be on display here from Feb. 2 through Feb. 26. Cornelius Town Hall is open Monday through Friday, 8:30 am to 5 pm.

The exhibit is organized by the Town of Cornelius PARC Department and the Smithville CommUNITY Coalition.

Virtual tour of historic Smithville

Also in honor of Black History Month, there will be a virtual tour of the Smithville community on Saturday, Feb. 20, via the PARC Facebook page. Led by members of the Smithville CommUNITY Coalition, the event includes the Rosenwald School and the Union Bethel AME Zion Church.
