BofA branch remains closed

Jan. 8. Bank of America’s Cornelius branch remains closed indefinitely, except for their ATM. Customers who need to access a safe deposit box must send an email including their name, address and phone number to [email protected] .

The branch at 20005 W. Catawba did not open on Monday morning Jan. 4. There were no prior notification to customers, so it’s unlikely the branch is closing permanently.

The FDIC requires an insured depository institution to submit a notice of any proposed branch closing to the appropriate federal banking agency no later than 90 days prior to the date of the proposed branch closing. The required notice must include a detailed statement of the reasons for the decision to close the branch and statistical or other information in support of such reasons.

“We apologize to clients for any inconvenience this may have caused,” said spokesman Mark Pipitone.

“We are operating with an abundance of caution during the pandemic,” he said.

Pipitone said customers can go to www.bankofamerica.com/locator for more information.

A Google search for bank hours today said the branch reopens Monday. “We don’t suggest using Google,” Pipitone said.

However, the Bank of America web site correctly listed the branch as temporarily closed.

    It’s very scary situation.
All branches are closed in Westport as well without any explanation.
Just a piece of dirty paper attached to the window, suggesting to go online to check up the location of the branches, which are open.

All of the Indianapolis branches unexpectedly closed during the summer. Some still haven’t fully reopened.

What do you need explanation of?Branches have like 5 workers. If 1 or 2 of them have to stay home, they can’t operate. It’s not rocket science, they can’t poof employees into existence.
