Will the RNC take place as planned?

March 25. It’s looking like the big GOP confab in Charlotte will be taking place this coming August, although there are some preliminary logistical changes. The Committee on Arrangements (COA) for the 2020 Republican National Convention will host a tele-town hall on April 15 in place of the on-site Spring Media Walkthrough.

It means media from around the world will still receive the information necessary for planning coverage of the 2020 Republican National Convention while following recommendations of local, state and federal officials.

The Republican convention will be held Aug. 24 to Aug. 27 at the Spectrum Center in Uptown.

Local political consultants say they are moving ahead with planning are fully committed to re-nominating President Trump.

RNC officials are working with the convention venues now, in expectation that the show will go on in August as planned.

Site build-out isn’t slated to begin until mid-July.
