Weekly Calendar: You and Julio down in the BoatYard

Sept. 15. Here’s a look at some exciting things happening this week around Lake Norman.

Tuesday, Sept. 16

Be Well Birkdale

6-7 pm | Tuesdays through Oct. 22. Find your zen during weekly fitness classes from local instructors including Yoga Six and Pure Barre. Attendees check in through a scannable QR code and earn swag items for every five classes completed. Guests are encouraged to bring their own mats. The Plaza, Birkdale Village, Huntersville.

Music Bingo

Wednesday, Sept. 17

BBQ & Bingo

11 am – 1 pm | Sept. 17. Barbecue lunch and play to win one of five awesome prizes during bingo. Registration required. $10 for residents; $15 others. Cornelius Town Hall, 21445 Catawba Ave.

North Meck Farmers Market

Birkdale Buds

Sip, Savor and Salute

5-7pm | Sept. 18. Enjoy wine/beer, rotating apps and a silent auction on the patio in support of veterans’ mental health and Wounded Warriors. $40 per person. Peninsula Prime.

Backyard Barbecue with Jazz & Bourbon Tasting

5:30-7:30 pm | Sept. 18. $75 for a BBQ & Jazz ticket; $100 for a BBQ, Jazz & Bourbon tasting experience ticket. Both options include a BBQ dinner buffet, one drink ticket (21+), unlimited nonalcoholic beverages, and live jazz from the Bill Ward Trio. The bourbon tasting experience option features four different bourbons from Southern Distilling Company who will be onsite for a “speakeasy style” tasting with an experienced bourbon connoisseur. Celebrating over 45 years since their founding in 1977, the GRAMMY Award-winning New Orleans-based Dirty Dozen Brass Band has taken the traditional foundation of brass band music and incorporated it into a blend of genres, including bebop jazz, funk and R&B/soul. Julio & The Saltines

Hough lacrosse car wash

Jazz Legacy Project presents John Coltrane: The Beauty of Struggle

Oktoberfest – Lost Worlds

Lake Norman Empowerment Festival

5-9 pm | Sept. 20. Family-friendly evening filled with gospel music, inspiring vendors, and community spirit. Expect soulful sounds from both local and national artists. This free event is a beautiful opportunity to come together in celebration, reflection, and unity. Smithville Park.

Ramble On Music Festival

Noon-10 pm | Sept. 20. The Kruger Brothers headline the free event featuring live music, beer and food. All ages welcome. The Carwash Davidson,.

Sunday, Sept. 21

Music at St. Alban’s

3 pm | Sept. 21. Features the Ciompi Quartet of Duke University for their season opener. Prior to the show members of the North Carolina Youth Orchestra will perform at 2:20pm. Tickets are $20 for adults and $15 for seniors, plus fees.

Sept. 21: Chasing Phoenix will perform at Rock the Lake 2

Rock the Lake 2

Noon – 8 pm | Sept. 21. The high-energy music festival returns for it’s second year and will feature a host of local bands across two stages providing a day full of fun, food, and community spirit. This year’s event supports two local charities focused on serving Western North Carolina. Tickets are $25 for general admission or $100 table. Lake Norman Brewery, 1753 Triangle Cir., Denver.
