Laugh Until You Cry

7:30 pm | May 21. Comedian Skylar Schock hosts a one of a kind evening of stand-up. Laugh Until You Cry is a show created for all fans of stand-up comedy and those interested in expanding the dialogue around mental health. $20, general admission. Armour Street Theatre, 307 Armour St., Davidson.

Disinformation 101: How to Identify and Fight It

Noon – 1 pm, virtual | May 21. Understanding Why Americans are so Divided and the Impact on Our Democracy. The Carter Center’s Nathan Stock will explore the research on political polarization and violence in the U.S. Register here to join the virtual event.

Live Under The Oaks

6-8 pm | May 24. Justin Mintum. Unwind with live musical performance. No coolers are allowed on property. A bar will be onsite in the designated area provided by Red Rocks for beverage needs. Bring lawn chairs and blankets to sit on. Seating space may be limited. The Plaza, Birkdale Village, Huntersville.

Jazz at the Vineyard

6pm | May 24. Bring your picnic baskets, lawn chairs and blankets to enjoy a great sunset of live jazz featuring fantastic saxophonist Adrian Crutchfield and his band. Wear your coolest white as we present an “Outside White Party” featuring an “After Show Jam” right on the Vineyard Grounds from 8-9 pm with music by Mr. EZE of SGL Productions. HEARTS May 1775 – Part Two

11 am – 4 pm | May 25. Immerse yourself in life in May 1775 with living history at the Hugh Torance House and Store, featuring reenactors and living history for all ages in Part Two of our exploration of May 1775, the month and year of the Meck Dec. Hugh Torance House and Store, 8231 Gilead Rd., Huntersville.

Historic Tour of the Store

1-2:15 pm and 3-4 pm | May 26. Step back in time to 1779 and explore the Hugh Torance House and Store and grounds.  The historic Hugh Torance House and Store is the oldest-standing store in NC and one of Mecklenburg County’s few surviving 18th-century structures. The site is adjacent to Cedar Grove, the National Register brick 1831 Greek Revival home of James Torrance, son of Hugh and Isabella Torance. This is a free tour but donations are most welcome. Hugh Torance House and Store, 8231 Gilead Rd., Huntersville.

Monday, May 27

Memorial Day Program in Cornelius

10 am-1 pm | May 27. The Town of Cornelius and American Legion Post 86 invite everyone to honor our nation’s servicemen and women who have given the ultimate sacrifice for our freedom. This year’s keynote speaker will be WWII Veteran Allan Jones. After the ceremony, join us in the lobby for light refreshments. Free and appropriate for all ages. Cain Center for the Arts, downtown Cornelius. 

Memorial Day Ceremony in Huntersville

11am-noon | May 27. The Town of Huntersville and American Legion Post 321 invite you to participate in the 23rd Annual Memorial Day Ceremony at Veterans’ Park, 201 Huntersville-Concord Rd., Huntersville.
