Be Well Birkdale

6-7 pm | . Check in at Concierge starting at 5:45 pm. Bring your mat for the workout class. You’ll receive access to a virtual punch card during your first class and if you come to five Be Well Birkdale classes, you get a prize. The Plaza, Birkdale Village.

Wednesday, May 17

Birkdale Buds

10:30 am – noon | May 17. Bring your pre-school aged child to enjoy a mobile play gym. No cost. Bring your own blankets to sit on. The Plaza, Birkdale Village, Huntersville.

Thursday, May 18

Red, White & Bundled Bay Shower

Susan Tillis

6-7:30 pm | May 18. The Susan M. Tillis Foundation’s seeks donations of new baby clothing like onesies, infant caps, socks, bibs, diapers, wipes and receiving blankets that will go to military families. Donations can be dropped off at Town Hall, 21445 Catawba Ave. or purchased online.

Birkdale Big Screen

2 pm | May 18. PGA Championship. Screenings are free for all visitors and seating is open to the public on a first-come, first-serve basis. Coolers are prohibited. Showings will be turned off when Concierge closes. Birkdale Village, Huntersville.

Concert

6:30-9 pm | May 18. The Chain, a Fleetwood Mac tribute band. LangTree Lake Norman 401 Langtree Rd., Mooresville.

Senior Dance

3:30 – 4:30 pm | Thursdays. This free class is designed for senior adults to improve flexibility, breath, balance, mobility, and fluidity by exploring various elements of ballet, jazz, modern, and improvisation. Participants can choose to take the class seated, standing, or a combination of both. Presented by Charlotte Ballet. Northern Regional Recreation Center, 18121 Old Statesville Rd., Cornelius.

Dance Without Limits

Noon – 1 pm | Thursdays.  A Culture Blocks program presented by Order My Steps designed for seniors of all levels.  Improve strength, coordination and mobility while learning new steps and styles. David B. Waymer Recreation Center, 14008 Holbrooks Rd., Huntersville.

Live Under the Oaks Concert

6-8 pm | May 19. Friends Duo. No coolers are allowed. The Plaza, Birkdale Village, Huntersville.

‘From Stage to Screen: An Orchestral Celebration of Broadway and Film Music’

7:30 pm | May 19. The Cornelius Youth Orchestras presents its  2022-2023 season finale concert, featuring performances by the Orchestra, Brass Ensemble, Prelude Strings, Junior Brass Ensemble, and the new Woodwind Ensemble. Lake Forest Church, 8519 Gilead Rd., Huntersville. Tickets are free and donations are accepted. Proceeds support the Cornelius Youth Orchestras.

Saturday, May 20

Davidson Lands Conservancy will host a spring NatureFest on May 20.

NatureFest 

9:30 am – noon | May 20. Davidson Lands Conservancy hosts a family-focused celebration of the spring season and wonders of nature suitable for nearly all ages. Event offerings include nature crafts, live animals and conservation-themed activities spaced along the West Branch greenway. Free. Paved trail at Roosevelt Wilson Park, 420 Griffith St., Davidson, offering stroller and wheelchair accessibility. Parking is along Griffith Street or in the park’s lot.

Cornelius Jazz Festival

5-9 pm | May 20. Festivities will include an evening filled with local jazz bands, food trucks, craft beer, and children’s activities.

Concerts @ the Circles

5-9 pm | May 20. Acoustic artist, then variety band Radio Revolver at 7 pm. Jetton Street by Clean Juice, Davidson.

Gardening: Vegetable Gardening

11 am – noon | May 20. Having a garden plan and knowing proper sun, soil and water requirements makes it easy to start your own vegetable garden. Even if your garden space is limited there are many types of vegetables that can be grown in containers or raised beds. Learning what can be grown, when to plant and harvest, pest management, and how to maintain a garden will make your garden experience more rewarding. Music at St. Alban’s: The Charlotte Master Chorale
