Coconut Groove Band

9 am – midnight | March 22. This group of professional musicians and singers is renowned for their passion for delivering high-quality performances across an impressive array of musical genres. Bin 110, 19712 One Norman Blvd. Suite 110, Cornelius.

Salsa Open Group Class & Social Dance Party

7 pm | March 22. Open to the public, no membership needed, drop-in for Friday night open-level group classes at 7 pm; dance party starting at 8 pm. No dance experience necessary, group class will cater to all levels of dance, and no dance partner is needed. Learn a new style of dance each week. Dynamic Ballroom, 19625 Bethel Church Rd. Hop Into Spring

2-4 pm | March 23. This free, family event is designed for ages 3-12. Participants can enjoy an afternoon filled with fun, including  egg-themed activities, arts and  crafts, live music, face painting, inflatables and concessions. Wilhelm Park, 19018 Smith Cir., Cornelius.

Donuts With the Duck and Bunny

9 am, 10 am and 11 am | March 23. Hop on over to for “Donuts with the Duck and Bunny” on d! Enjoy donuts and a craft while you wait for your Bunny and Duck photo. Advance registration with a fee of $10 per family is required. Space is limited to 30 tables per time slot. Registration will include a 45-minute table reservation, one donut per person and a family table craft. Tables are limited to 6 people per table. Please sign up as one person and enter the number of people attending with your family. Veterans Park in Downtown Huntersville.

Susan Werner

8 pm | March 23. Over the course of her colorful career, singer songwriter Susan Werner has cultivated a reputation as a daring and innovative songwriter with a killer live show. Most of her work infuses traditional music styles and methods with her unmistakable contemporary worldview, constantly challenging listeners to experience music from a fresh and unexpected perspective.Tickets $30-$40. NC Arbor Day Tree Planting: Pump House Greenway

9 am – noon | March 23. In celebration of the NC Arbor Day (held earlier than the national Arbor Day to coincide with the area tree planting season), TreesDavidson will host a tree planting at the Pump House Greenway, 865 South St., to plant 40-50 trees with volunteers. This event is great for all ages. Sign-up recommended. This event is open to all.

Gump Fiction

8:30 pm | March 23. Gump Fiction is a high-octane, nostalgia-fueled time-machine with one totally radical destination: the 1990s. Tickets $10 advance; $15 door. BoatYard, 18418 Statesville Rd., Cornelius.

Purim Carnival

Keukenhof Spring Market

11 am – 4 pm | March 24. Artists and craftsmen, food trucks, craft beer, live music. Beach Bash raffle fundraiser for Big Day at the Lake. Back lot of Lost Worlds Brewing, Cornelius.

Registration open for Mayors Fitness Challenge

The 2024 Mayors Fitness Challenge will take place for six weeks from April 7 – May 19. The goal is for residues of Cornelius, Davidson and Huntersville to have the most active minutes collectively each week. At the end of the six weeks, the town with the highest average total of active minutes will be awarded the Fittest Community trophy. 

STEM & Arts festival

Noon – 4 pm | March 24. North Carolina’s largest STEM & Arts festival. Over 100 free hands-on STEAM activities, games, entertainment, artisans and vendors, food trucks and more. Admission and activities are free but space is limited. Register now to reserve your spot for an afternoon of family fun. Woodlawn School,  135 Woodlawn School Loop, Mooresville 28115.

Bright Star

7:30 pm March 20-23; 2 pm March 24. The Music Department collaborates with the Theatre Department in this production of Bright Star, featuring musical echoes of the Blue Ridge Mountains. Bright Star is a haunting tale of love and redemption set among a rich ensemble of characters in the North Carolina mountains in the 1940’s. Literary editor Alice Murphy sets out to discover the familial secret that binds her to a young writer just back from World War II. Her emotional, uplifting journey of discovery will forever change both of their lives. For tickets,(13.91 plus fees), contact the Union Box Office at 704-894-2135. Home Grown Junior!

Hours vary | March 29. Home Grown is an annual mixed media exhibit celebrating our artistic community. Artists of all levels are invited to submit 2D and 3D work. This is a non-juried exhibit that allows our community of artists to explore their creativity.

For the first time, the Cain Center for the Arts  has added an exhibit for artists from the ages of 10-16 .

This exhibit is  open at the Cornelius Arts Center Gallery, and available to view by the public on 10 am – 4 pm Mondays -Tuesdays and 10 am-1 pm Wednesdays.
