Town Talk

9 am | April 25. The Town Talk will focus on the town’s three big campaigns: Heads Up Cornelius, Year of the Trail, and Leash Like You Mean It. Bring questions.  Cain Center for the Arts  21348 Catawba Ave. 

Traditional Series: Phil Wiggins and the Chesapeake Sheiks

7:30 – 9  pm | April 25. Phil Wiggins, broadly acknowledged as the greatest blues harmonica player of our time, is the second of our NEA Folk Heritage Fellows to perform on this series. For tickets, call the Union Box Office at 704-894-2135. Free for Davidson students, but tickets are required. Knobloch Campus Center DFPH-Duke Family Performance Hall, Davidson College.

Wednesday, April 26

Davidson College Chorale, Chamber Singers, and Choral Arts Society Davidson: Bach Magnificat in D Major, BWV 243

7:30 PM – 9 pm | April 26. The North Carolina Baroque Orchestra joins the Chorale, Chamber Singers and Choral Arts Society Davidson to present one of Johann Sebastian Bach’s greatest and uplifting vocal works, the Magnificat in D Major. Free and open to the public. Tickets are not required. Davidson College Presbyterian Church Sanctuary, Davidson.

Dueling Pianos

Gallery Crawl

6-9 pm | April 28. Artists display their work in Davidson’s establishments from Main Street over to South Main Street and at the Circles @ 30. Galleries, businesses and town hall host visiting artists, including some that will be featured at Art on the Green April 29-30. Refreshments and music.

Art on the Green

10 am to 5 pm | April 29. Art, live music and food. Davidson’s juried art festival features booths filled with top-quality art works from artists throughout the region. Downtown Davidson.

Davidson Home & Village Tour

10 am – 4 pm | April 29. Presented by the Davidson-Cornelius Child Development Center  and centered on the Town Green, the walking tour will feature unique architectural styles, interior design, historical landmarks and local artists. Adult admission is $40, children 2-12 are $15 with advance purchase.

Town of Davidson – Earth Day Festival

10 am – 1 pm | April 29. Visit the Earth Day Festival for hands on science, food, games, activities, music, free native seedlings, education and more. This year marks the 53rd anniversary of Earth Day. Davidson town green.

Gin & Vodka Spring Mixology Class

Art on the Green

Mamaloshen Discussion on Yiddish Culture and Music

2 pm | April 30. Explore the impact of Yiddish and Klezmer culture on American culture and vice-versa, including fun film clips and rare recordings. presentation is also available via Zoom. Zoom credentials are made available after registration. Temple Kol Tikvah, 605 South St, Davidson.

Senior Bird Walk

9 am | Mondays, Jan. 9 – May 8. Avid birders provide a guided walk to identify birds throughout Wing Haven Garden & Bird Sanctuary and SEED Wildlife & Children’s Garden. The 3.5 acre open space is conducive to many local and migratory songbirds. The walk is slow paced with opportunities to rest on benches and be still for the birds. Senior Dance

3:30 – 4:30 pm | Thursdays. This free class is designed for senior adults to improve flexibility, breath, balance, mobility, and fluidity by exploring various elements of ballet, jazz, modern, and improvisation. Participants can choose to take the class seated, standing, or a combination of both. Presented by Charlotte Ballet. Northern Regional Recreation Center, 18121 Old Statesville Rd., Cornelius.
