Weekly Agenda June 6-12: There’s plenty to do to keep you busy

June 12: Band of Oz performs at Concerts on the Green

Trying to figure out what to do? This calendar, published weekly on Mondays, can point you to some of the best options in Lake Norman.

Here’s a look at what’s coming up:

June 6

Cardio Funk 

6:30-7:30 pm Mondays. Drop in for this high-energy class at Bailey Road Recreation Center. $10 per class, pay at the door.

June 7

Music Bingo

7 pm kickoff.  Lost Worlds Brewing, 19700-D One Norman Blvd., Cornelius.

Smithville Revitalization Plan Public Meeting

5-7 pm with a formal presentation at 5:30 pm. The public is invited and encouraged to attend and provide feedback on the plan. Town Hall Community Room.

Be Well Birkdale 

6-7 pm free workout class. Check in starts at 5:45 pm. Workout class by various studios and instructors. Don’t forget your mat. You’ll receive a punch card during your first class and if you come to four Be Well Birkdale classes, you get a special prize. The Grove across from Kilwins, Birkdale Village, Huntersville.

Pickleball Open Play 

5-8 pm. Cornelius Parks & Recreation and Lake Norman Pickleball Association are now offering Pickleball Open Play at Robbins Park, 17738 West Catawba Ave. Players of all skill levels are welcome, Participants will need to bring their own paddle. This is a free, drop-in program; no registration is required.

Adult Open Gym Basketball 

6:30 to 9 p.m. Adults may drop in on Tuesdays for basketball at Bailey Road Recreation Center, 11536 Bailey Road, inside Bailey Middle School.  Ages 18 and older. Free.

June 8

Music Bingo

7-10 pm. Royal Bliss Brewing, 7532 Royal Bliss Ct., Denver.

Birkdale Buds 

10:30 am- noon. Story time with princesses and crafts. Bring your pre-school aged child for playtime in the Grove. Weekly activities may include face painters, storytellers, magicians, arts and crafts.  Crafts and activities will be available while supplies last. Bring a blanket to sit on. Free. The Grove across from Kilwins in Birkdale Village, Huntersville.

June 9 

June 9: Dani Kerr performs at LangTree Lake Norman

Live music

Join the Lake Norman Bridge Center 

12:30-4pm Thursdays at Cornelius Town Hall, 21445 Catawba Ave., if you have an interest in learning the game of bridge or want to develop your playing, bidding, and defense skills. All ages and skill levels are welcome. $5 per day, pay at the door.

6-10 pm. Old Town Cornelius presents 2nd Friday Street Festival featuring live music, food trucks, craft breweries, local artisans, kids activities and much more. Oak Street Mill. 19725 Oak Street, Cornelius.

Live Under the Oaks

6 to 8 pm. StellaRising. A bar will be onsite in the designated area provided by Red Rocks Cafe. Please bring your own lawn chairs and blankets to sit on. Birkdale Village, Huntersville.

Movies in the Park

Movies begin at dusk and are open to the public, free of charge and will be shown at Veterans’ Park – Downtown Huntersville. Bring  blankets and lawn chairs. Check website for movie selection.

June 11

“The Breakfast Club” plays Jun e 11 in the Outdoor Cinema Series.

Outdoor Cinema Series

Nostalgia Night for adults only with the “The Breakfast Club” – R (1985) at Smithville Park, 19710 South Ferry St. Weather permitting, movies will begin at dusk (approximately 8:30 p.m.). Gate opens at 6:30 p.m.,; concessions available for purchase will include a food truck and a local beer vendor.  Bring your lawn chairs and blankets. Coolers and picnic baskets are OK.

Davidson Farmers Market

9 am- noon. 120 S. Main St., Davidson. Rain or shine, No pets please.

Music at the Mill

6:30 pm pre-show exhibit and reception; 8-9:30 show. Toby Lightman. Tickets $45.   Cain Center for the Arts’ Cornelius Arts Center,19725 Oak St. Suite 1, Cornelius.

Hot Grill Summer Cookout and Movie event  

11 am – 3 pm cookout at Lake Norman State Park picnic grounds, 759 State Park Road, Troutman. Meals can be ordered using QR codes displayed on Smithfield-branded buoys in the lake or signage on the beach. Food will be delivered directly to boats on the lake by servers on jet skis or on foot to attendees’ towels on the beach.

Free outdoor movie 7:30-10:30 pm at Martin Luther King Jr. Park Amphitheater, 911 Lakewood Drive, Statesville. Movie goers will get to enjoy pop culture classic “The Goonies” and be treated to complimentary snacks, including Smithfield Maple Thick Cut Bacon-sprinkled popcorn and candied bacon.

Saturday at the Square 

6-8 pm. Pushh, variety. South Main Square, Davidson.

Concerts on the Green

6-8 pm. Band of Oz, Beach. Concerts are free. Coolers and picnics OK. Food and beverage available for purchase. Village Green, downtown Davidson at the corner of Main Street and Concord Road, on the Davidson Public Library stage.

Summer Market 

11 am – 4pm. More than 40 artists. Food, beer. Lost Worlds Brewing, 19700-D One Norman Blvd.
