Weekly Agenda June 20-26: School is out and it’s start of summer. Plan your fun

June 24: Mikele Buck Band performs at Royal Bliss Brewing Co.

Trying to figure out what to do? This calendar, published weekly on Mondays, can point you to some of the best options in Lake Norman.

Here’s a look at what’s coming up:

June 20

Cardio Funk 

6:30-7:30 pm Mondays. Drop in for this high-energy class at Bailey Road Recreation Center. $10 per class, pay at the door.

2022 Lake Norman Big Band

Tickets are $25 per person. New Victory Lanes, 125 Morlake Drive, Mooresville.

June 21

Blood drive

10:30 am -5:30 pm at Veterans Park in Hutnersville. Appointments encouraged; Oneblood.org/donate-now and use sponsor code #57266. Donors receive $20 e-giftcard, first responder T-shirt and a wellness checkup that includes blood pressure, pulse, temperature, iron count and cholesterol screening.

June 21: Pickleball Open Play

Pickleball Open Play 

5-8 pm. Cornelius Parks & Recreation and Lake Norman Pickleball Association are now offering Pickleball Open Play at Robbins Park, 17738 West Catawba Ave. Players of all skill levels are welcome, Participants will need to bring their own paddle. This is a free, drop-in program; no registration is required.

Huntersville Growers’ Market 

9 am – 1 pm Tuesdays at the Novant Hospital parking lot, 10003 Gilead Road.

Be Well Birkdale 

6-7 pm free workout class. Check in starts at 5:45 pm. Workout class by various studios and instructors. Don’t forget your mat. You’ll receive a punch card during your first class and if you come to four Be Well Birkdale classes, you get a special prize. The Grove across from Kilwins, Birkdale Village, Huntersville.

Adult Open Gym Basketball 

6:30 to 9 p.m. Adults may drop in on Tuesdays for basketball at Bailey Road Recreation Center, 11536 Bailey Road, inside Bailey Middle School.  Ages 18 and older. Free.

June  22 

June 22: Hamm It Up face painting at Birkdale Buds

Birkdale Buds 

10:30 am- noon. Crafts. Bring your pre-school aged child for playtime in the Grove. Weekly activities may include face painters, storytellers, magicians, arts and crafts.  Crafts and activities will be available while supplies last. Bring a blanket to sit on. Free. The Grove across from Kilwins in Birkdale Village, Huntersville.  

Celebrate America at Truist Field

8:30 pm. The Charlotte Symphony performs a  salute to America featuring patriotic favorites and memorable anthems and marches, concluding with a fireworks display.  Truist Field, 324 South Mint St., Charlotte. Tickets for sale. 

Music Bingo

Starting at 7pm. Royal Bliss Brewing, 7532 Royal Bliss Ct., Denver.

June 23 

Live music 

6-9 pm. British Invaders. LangTree Lake Norman, 401 Langtree Road, Mooresville.

June 23: Dueling Pianos Benefit

Dueling Pianos benefit 

7-10 pm. Jennifer Siebenaler & Jimmy Porter tickling the ivories and taking requests. No outside coolers or alcohol. Bring lawn chairs blankets. Food truck. $25 ticket includes a complimentary glass of wine, beer or soft drink. Tickets and tips to the performers support Lake Norman Humane’s lifesaving work for pets in need. Daveste’ Vineyards, 155 Lytton Rd., Troutman.

Join the Lake Norman Bridge Center 

12:30-4pm Thursdays at Cornelius Town Hall, 21445 Catawba Ave., if you have an interest in learning the game of bridge or want to develop your playing, bidding, and defense skills. All ages and skill levels are welcome. $5 per day, pay at the door.

Live Under the Oaks 

6 to 8 pm. Pushh. A bar will be onsite in the designated area provided by Red Rocks Cafe. Please bring your own lawn chairs and blankets to sit on. Birkdale Village, Huntersville.

June 25

Concerts on the Green

6-8 pm. Dave Matthews Tribute Band. Concerts are free. Coolers and picnics OK. Food and beverage available for purchase. Village Green, downtown Davidson at the corner of Main Street and Concord Road, on the Davidson Public Library stage.

June 25: Craft Beer and Food Truck Extravaganza at the Mooresville Spinners

Craft Beer & Food Truck Extravaganza 

Gates open at 4:45 pm with craft beer, live music, food trucks and more. Mooresville Spinners play the Carolina Vipers at 7 pm. Tickets are available at the gate an hour before game time; $6 general admission. Moor Park, 691 S Broad St., Mooresville.

Jim Warren Community Day

10 am – 2 pm.  Free admission to walk the Raptor Trail  and participate in activities by community partners, bird demonstrations, a community art project. Food truck on site. Carolina Raptor Center, 6000 Sample Road, Huntersville.

June 25: The America’s Got Magic tour at Mooresville Performing Arts Center

The America’s Got Magic

Doors open at 6 pm; show starts at 7 pm. The show features this trio of magicians: Elliott Zimet, Bryan Saint and John Michael Hinton. Mooresville Performing Arts Center, 160 S. Magnolia St., Mooresville. Purchase tickets in advance. 

Davidson Farmers Market

9 am- noon. 120 S. Main St., Davidson. Rain or shine, No pets please.

June 26

Joint musical worship service 

11 am. First Baptist Church of Cornelius, Revive Iglesia Cristiana, NC Kachin Baptist Church and Union Bethel AME Zion will hold a four-church musical worship service First Baptist Church of Cornelius, 21007 Catawba Ave. Oriented to music because of language differences, there will be a fellowship meal afterward with food from all four cultures.

Live music
