Annual Artoberfest

Noon – 4 pm | Tuesday-Friday.  10am – 2pm | Saturday. Local artists’ work on displayat Mooresville Arts Depot, 103 W. Center Ave., Mooresville.

SCarowinds

Hordes of hungry zombies and blood-thirsty vampires eagerly wait to make guests their next meal. There is no escaping their wicked screams that fill the park. Carrigans / Scarrigans Farm

Pumpkin picking daily. Pumpkin patch includes hayride to petting Zoo and pumpkin field. Haunted Trail for ages 12 and older. Advanced reservations are required for both actives. Pumpkin picking cost is $14 per person and includes a pumpkin. Haunted Trail price ranges from $20 to $40 per person depending on the date. 1261 Oakridge Farm Hwy., Mooresville.

Annual Pumpkin Patch 

Hodges Family Farm main entrance, 3780 Rocky River Rd. East, Charlotte. Open daily 9 am – 6 pm.  Pumpkins of all shapes and sizes, hay mountain to climb and jump on, barnyard animals, photo opportunities, picnic areas. Saturday and Sundays you can also expect: $5 parking, hayrides, Farm Shop, treats for purchase.

Men of Change art exhibit

Check websites for gallery schedules. | B. Gantt Center for African-American Arts+Culture  and Levine Museum of the New South to bring  Men of Change: Power. Triumph. Truth. The Gantt will display Storytellers, Fathering, and Imagining; Levine Museum will display Catalysts, Myth-Breakers, and Community; both museums in Charlotte will display Loving. Admission is free.

Angels of 97 Community Festival Fundraiser

11 am – 5 pm | Oct. 22. Music, food, desserts, vendors, auction items, and friends to raise money for Angels of ’97 scholarships.  Kids activities and costume contest. Veterans Park, 210 Huntersville-Coincord Rd., Huntersville.

A Taste of Davidson 

5-10 pm | Oct. 22. Tastings from Davidson restaurants will offer tastings of some of their most popular menu items for a small fee, beer, wine and live music by Carolina Soul Band. Jetton Street at Circles @ 30.

Pickleball Open Play 

8:30-11:30 am. Cornelius Parks & Recreation and Lake Norman Pickleball Association are now offering Pickleball Open Play at Robbins Park, 17738 West Catawba Ave. Players of all skill levels are welcome, Participants will need to bring their own paddle. This is a free, drop-in program; no registration is required.

Saturdays: Crafting

“Secret” Society of Crafters 

10 am to noon, weather permitting. Connect with crafters in the area, find the motivation to pick up that project again, and benefit from the wisdom of a passionate crafting group. Hearts On Fiber, 208 South Village Ln. Suite A, Davidson.

9-10 am. Drop in for this high-energy class at Bailey Road Recreation Center. $10 per class, pay at the door.

Saturday Morning bike ride

8 am.  Meet in front of Spirited Cyclist Bike Shop, 610 Jetton St., Davidson, in the Harris Teeter parking lot. Distance/pace: 32 miles; moderate/tempo 16-18mph no drop. Option for longer /faster rides.
