Sentenced

6 pm | July 25. “Sentenced,” documentary film by Stephen and  Ayesha Curry, a call to action for childhood literacy, presented by the Ada Jenkins Center and community partners. The documentary delves into the personal and harsh realities of intergenerational illiteracy, showcasing the impact on families and communities. Free. This event is not suitable for children; supervised activities for K–5th grade students will be available through LEARN Works at the Cain Center for the Arts. July 25: Wannabe Spice Girls Tribute at BoatYard LKN

Cornelius Brick Race

10-11:30 am | July 26. Kids ages 7-14 will compete in constructing their very own toy brick car, then race one another in multiple heats until a champion is crowned. Registration required. $5 residents; $10 others. Cain Park, 21336 Catawba Ave.

Davidson Farmers Market

9 am – noon | every Saturday through Thanksgiving. Produce, flowers, meat and baked goods.Rain or shine. No pets. 120 S. Main St., Davidson, next to Town Hall between Main and Jackson streets.

Sister Hazel

Lost at the Lake concert series

7:30 pm | July 26. Sister Hazel is comprised of five gifted, seasoned musicians whose well-spring of natural talent. Their hit song “All for You,” topped the adult alternative charts during the summer of 1997, propelling their album to platinum status. All Ages.
