Sept. 12. Despite the relatively dry stretch of weather to wrap up our summer season, most of North Carolina is not experiencing any form of drought conditions, according to the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration. The water level on Lake Norman 97.2% of full pond, just three-tenths of a percentage point below the target goal of 97.5% set by Duke Energy. There are still no active tropical systems in the Atlantic.
Today: Sunny, with a high near 82. Calm wind becoming northeast around 5 mph in the afternoon. Tonight mostly clear, with a low around 58. Light north northeast wind.
Saturday: Sunny, with a high near 82. Calm wind becoming northeast around 5 mph in the afternoon. Saturday night mostly clear, with a low around 60.
Sunday: Sunny, with a high near 86. Sunday night mostly clear, with a low around 63.
Next week: Warm temperatures return with highs in the 80s and lows in the 60s.
