Oct. 21. The Cornelius Parks and Recreation Department will host a series of events this week to celebrate the official opening of 12 new lighted tennis courts at the Bailey Road Park court complex.
Together, the tennis courts and 10 lighted pickleball courts make Bailey Road Park one of the largest public collections of courts in the Charlotte area.

Tuesday, Oct. 21 — Community Day
6–8 p.m. – On-court tennis relays, games and drills for all ages, plus vendors and stations hosted by Cornelius Parks & Recreation, Modern Strike Tennis and Lake Norman Tennis Association.
Wednesday, Oct. 22 — Youth Clinics
6–6:30 p.m.
• Tiny Tots (ages 3–5)
• First Serve Beginners (ages 6–10)
6:30–7 p.m.
• Futures Academy (intermediate, ages 6–10)
• Aces Beginners (ages 11–18)

Thursday, Oct. 23 — Grand Opening and Adult & Senior Clinics
5:30 p.m. – Ribbon-cutting ceremony hosted by Cornelius Parks and Recreation with Modern Strike Tennis, the USTA and community leaders.
