Vultures: Not as foul as you might think

Photo: Carolina Raptor Center

Aug. 30. This may be too awesome to turn down: The Carolina Raptor Center will have a carcass feeding at 2 pm Saturday, which is International Vulture Awareness Day.

In honor of vultures’ bald heads, anyone who is bald will get in free.

Here’s what the day looks like:

10:30 am: 30-minute presentation by a visiting Raptor Biologist

1:30 am: 30-minute Meet a Raptor educational program

1:00 pm: Fly-By with one of CRC’s resident avian ambassadors

2:00 pm: Carcass feeding

2:30 pm: Black Vulture Keeper Chat

There will also be vulture-themed activities for the whole family, including a scavenger hunt.
