USDA cites Zootastic

May 6. Zootastic Park, a drive-through and walk-through animal park in Troutman, has been cited by the US Department of Agriculture for improper daily inspections of animals in their care. Five goats in the petting zoo public display area were noted to be lame on observation during inspection by the USDA. Veterinarians were consulted and treatment for all impacted animals was initiated, according to a USDA report sent to Cornelius Today by PETA. In 2016 Zootastic was fined $7,450 for nine violations of the Animal Welfare Act.
