Update on Huntersville’s holiday plans

Oct. 28.  Christmas event details are still being worked out, according to Lindsay Small, Downtown Events & Facilities Coordinator for the Huntersville Parks & Recreation.

“We have created a few different options to work with,” Small said. “A final decision will be made after Veterans Day.”

Gov. Roy Cooper is expected to make an announcement Nov. 13 regarding the state’s coronavirus pandemic phase and gathering sizes.

“At the very least we will host a Downtown Holiday Market Series,” Small said. Vendors will be set up 4 pm-8 pm  Fridays and 1 pm-8 pm Saturdays Dec. 4 – Dec. 19.

Santa is currently scheduled to visit  Dec. 4 and 5; advanced registration for photos will be required.

All vendors will be spaced 6 feet to 8 feet apart at Veterans Park.

Hand sanitizer will be available and masks recommended when 6 feet of social distancing is not possible.

“These three weekends will be a great opportunity to support local and safely shop outdoors all while enjoying the holiday season,” Small said.
