UCB completes conversion process after Aquesta merger

Nov. 17. United Community Bank has completed the conversion of all bank systems and customer operations after the acquisition of Cornelius-based Aquesta Bank. All nine Aquesta locations have been re-branded as part of United Community Bank, bringing United’s total footprint to 180 offices across five states.

“Aquesta has been the ideal partner for us to grow our presence in this highly-desirable Charlotte and Lake Norman market,” said Jim Rose, state president for United Community Bank in North Carolina.

Jim Engel, CEO of Aquesta, said the conversion process confirmed his belief that the two banks share a common culture. “I’m pleased that we are able to better serve our customers with a larger balance sheet and expanded products and services, giving us a tremendous opportunity to grow our presence around Lake Norman, the greater Charlotte region and other key markets in the Carolinas,” he said.
