TV newsman headlines Chamber gala Jan. 18

Paul Cameron, who recently retired from WBTV after a 37-year career, will be the keynote speaker at the Lake Norman Chamber of Commerce annual gala at The Peninsula Club Jan. 18.

Entrepreneurship will continue to be a focus for the Lake Norman Chamber of Commerce in 2019 as the Chamber works with SCORE and Central Piedmont Community College to promote business incubation and development in the lake region.

The theme for the chamber gala is “Connect * Engage * Inspire.”

Cameron, a Cornelius resident, won the UPI national Best Sports award and numerous other awards for motorsports, golf and tennis coverage. He became prime news anchor for WBTV News at 5, 6 and 11 pm in 1996. He has interviewed both George W. Bush and Barack Obama in the White House.

The program includes remarks by outgoing chair Joshua Dobi as well as the induction of new Board Chair Tricia Sisson.
