Town board approves board, committee appointees

The following Cornelius residents were recently approved by the Board of Commissioners as members of town advisory boards. Chairs are appointed each year.

Planning Board / Board of Adjustment / Watershed Review Board

  • Phil Bechtold – Chair, serving since 2018

  • Fred Westaway – Reappointed for a second term

  • Andy Upchurch – Local business owner and former financial advisor

  • Brett Hart – Former business owner and CMPD officer

  • Keith Eicher – Former board member and chair

  • Todd Little – Local business owner and lifelong resident

Architectural Review Board

  • Rick Kamakaris – Chair, serving since 2015

  • David Eave – Reappointed, serving since 2007

  • Joseph Harris – Reappointed, serving since 2007

Transportation Advisory Board

  • Jason Happe – Chair, appointed in 2024

  • Bob Bruton – Reappointed, serving since 2025

  • Michael Case – Reappointed, serving since 2023

  • Kevin Ross – Downtown resident and counselor

  • Jerry Kurtz – Retired IT executive

Parks and Recreation Commission

  • Carla Eustache – Chair, serving since in 2021

  • Jana Ritter – Reappointed for a second term

  • Lory Morrow – Retired school superintendent

  • Massiel Tavarez – Atrium employee and active park user

  • Chris Kolkhorst – Former chair, returning to board
