The spooky and the kooky: October events

 Here’s a look at some exciting things happening in October around Lake Norman. Check event links for any last-minute updates or changes.

Tuesday, Sept. 30

A Night For Paws 2025

6-10 pm | Sept. 30. Dinner, cocktails, hors d’oeuvres, live and silent auction items, live entertainment, raffles and the opportunity to support the lifesaving work of Lake Norman Humane. $150; tickets required. Lake Norman Humane, 2106 Charlotte Hwy., Mooresville 28117.

Be Well Birkdale

6-7 pm | Tuesdays through Oct. 22. Find your zen during weekly fitness classes from local instructors including Yoga Six and Pure Barre. Attendees check in through a scannable QR code and earn swag items for every five classes completed. Guests are encouraged to bring their own mats. The Plaza, Birkdale Village, Huntersville.

Euchre Night

Weekends through Oct. 31

Rural Hill Corn Maze

See website for times. Come get lost in the Rural Hill Corn Maze on weekends for a fun-filled adventure in the great outdoors. Scarrigan Farms Haunted Trail

See website for schedule. Face your fears across the farm filled with deranged clowns, chainsaw-wielding lunatics, zombies, and other creepy outdoor beings. Reservations are required and tickets are available from $30 per person most nights. All guests must be 12 years or older. Carrigan Farms, 1213 Oak Ridge Farm Highway, Mooresville.

SCarowinds

See website for schedule. The park has been fully transformed for a terrifying Halloween celebration to commemorate 25 years of fear. Expect terrifying haunted mazes, sinister scare zones, exhilarating live show, and specialty food & drink. Tickets required for park admission with optional Haunted Attraction add-ons. Torrence Chapel AME Zion Church Family Month

7-8 pm | Wednesdays in October. Torrence Chapel AME Zion Church will host their Family Month activities. Learn from mental health experts as they discuss important topics that impact families. National Night Out (rescheduled)
