Sweetgreen, a salad chain, opening today in Birkdale

June 12. Sweetgreen is unveiling its second Charlotte-area location in Birkdale today with an opening party 10 am to 2 pm at the new store, located at 16844 Birkdale Commons.

The fast-casual salad chain is known for creative salads and bowls, some of them made with locally grown produce.

Georgetown students opened the first Sweetgreen in Washington, DC in 2007.
