VIDAL

Susan Beth (Nathan) Vidal, 63, passed away on Saturday April 11, 2015 after a valiant 15 year battle with Melanoma. Susan peacefully took her last breaths in the arms of her loved ones at the Levine & Dickson Hospice House in Huntersville, NC.

She was preceded in death by her father, Jack Nathan. She is survived by her husband, Edward Vidal of Mooresville, NC, mother, Aileen Nathan of Cornelius, NC,  three daughters, Melissa Volk (husband Ronnie) of Sarasota, FL, Lauren Ladenheim (husband Matthew) of Huntersville, NC, Julie Davis (husband Eric) of Oxford, Mississippi and two sons, Michael Vidal of Oxford, Mississippi and Eric Vidal (wife Becky) of Maryville, Tennessee.  Also surviving her are her 9 grandchildren whom she loved dearly, Rylee Volk, Maddox Volk, Avery Volk, Jackson Ladenheim, Grayson Ladenheim, Emily  Shoffner, Abbey  Shoffner, Graham Davis, and Garrett Vidal.

Susan was born in Manhattan, NY and grew up in Cedarhurst, NY.  She also lived in California and Florida before making Mooresville, NC her home.  While she spent some time working, her main focus in life was always her family.  She was a lover of good food, music, art and dance.  She was a talented artist, had an amazing singing voice and ability to accompany herself on the piano. She also loved animals and supported animal rights organizations.

She had an electric personality, was full of life, a little bit crazy, and was loved by all who knew her.  Her life was a whirlwind of both hardships and adventures, through which she taught us several important life lessons. The last and most important lesson she taught us was how to “go out in style” and die with dignity and grace.   She sang and danced her way through life all the way until the end.  She has now gained her Angel’s wings and we know she is dancing and singing on the streets of Heaven.  We will hold her memory in our hearts forever and carry her with us always.

Services will be held on Friday, April 17, 2015 at 11:00 am at Raymer-Kepner Funeral Home, 16901 Old Statesville Road, Huntersville, NC 28078.  Visitation will begin at 10:00 am. prior to the service
