May 2. The Hunting Wives, an upcoming drama series based on the novel by May Cobb, is filming at a lakefront home down Nantz Road.

Neighbors say the producers have groomed an already near-perfect beach and added a half-dozen umbrellas.

Star power

The Starz series stars Malin Akerman, Brittany Snow, Dermot Mulroney, Evan Jonigkeit, Chrissy Metz of “This Is Us” fame, Jaime Ray Newman, Katie Lowes and George Ferrier.

“The series will follow a group of women in Texas, and be packed full of soapy drama,” IMBD states.

‘Utterly unpredictable’

About the book, Riley Sager, author of Home Before Dark, said it is “sultry, salacious and utterly unpredictable.”

Details

“The Hunting Wives” is filming in Cornelius for only one or two days.

Principal photography began in March. The crew has been spotted at Coyote Joe’s in Charlotte and the Dilworth Tasting Room in South End as well as in downtown Mooresville early in April.
