Dec. 16. Suffolk Punch’s long-awaited opening in Birkdale Village is finally here.
The Charlotte-based brewery opened its doors this past weekend as construction continues on the remainder of the building.
The downstairs interior is open and features a long bar with seating for 12 to 15 people, along with six small tables that accommodate an additional 20 to 25 guests. Seating includes leather bar stools and chairs.

Construction is ongoing on the rest of the brewery and restaurant, though TVs and large, upscale picnic tables were being installed in the rear of the building earlier this week. The upstairs area is expected to open early this spring, with additional infrastructure and finishing touches planned over the coming months.
The menu features a rotating selection of beers and seltzers priced from $6.50 to $8, along with wines available by the glass and bottle at prices comparatively less expensive to other nearby restaurants. Signature cocktails, nonalcoholic options and THC-infused drinks are also offered. Seasonal cocktails include Butter Pecan Pie and Apple Pie, priced around $12.
The menu is smaller than Suffolk Punch’s larger Charlotte locations and includes appetizers, sandwiches, salads and flatbreads priced from $8 to $12. Vegetarian options are available, and gluten-free flatbreads are expected to be added soon.
One side of the brewery will open for outdoor walk-up service, allowing the business to take advantage of Birkdale Village’s social district, which permits consumption within a designated perimeter as long as beverages are served in approved social district cups.
