Davidson celebrates April is for Arts

April 18. April is for Arts is a monthlong celebration of the arts in Davidson.

The weekend of April 22-24 will  focus on the arts in town with events, notably the annual Gallery Crawl and Art on the Green festival, planned.

The Gallery Crawl takes place on 6-9 pm Friday, April 22. Main Street and South Main Street businesses and sidewalks will be transformed into  art galleries. Homewood Suites at the Circles @ 30 will also showcase many artists.

Art on the Green is Davidson’s largest annual arts festival, bringing thousands of residents and visitors to Davidson’s Main Street and town green 10 am to 5 pm Saturday, April 23  and noon to 4pm Sunday, April 24.

This juried art show spotlights in a weekend-long celebration. More than 50 artists from the Lake Norman region, North Carolina, Virginia, Massachusetts and Maine will showcase and sell their creations in all types of media: sculpture, watercolor, photography, wood, glass, ceramics, etc.

The popular Concerts on the Green series kicks off its 2022 season 6-8 pm Sunday, April 24 with the Davidson College Symphony Orchestra and Jazz Ensemble on the stage of the Davidson Public Library. Please bring your own picnic to enjoy on the town green or purchase food from local restaurants that will be open that evening.
