Roger William Bombard, 80, of Cornelius, NC, formerly of Watertown, NY passed away Monday, September 14, 2015.  Roger was born May 14, 1935 in Cape Vincent, NY to the late Roger and Lilla Ada Bombard.  He served his country in the United States Air Force from 1955-1959.

Roger was a retired Sergeant with the Jefferson County Sheriff’s department in Watertown, NY and also owned the Dalton’s Religious Store & Gift Shoppe.  Roger was an honorary life-time member of the Sampson Air Force Base Veterans Association in Geneva, NY and the Knights of Columbus, in both NY and NC.  He enjoyed camping and was an avid sportsman and woodworker.  Roger participated in craft shows in Watertown and also the Lake Norman Area.  He was a member of St. Mark Catholic Church in Huntersville, NC.  On July 8, 1961 he was married by Father Phalon at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Watertown, to Philomena Janice Storino.  Along with his wife, he leaves to cherish his memory, his loving family; son, Roger Patrick Bombard, of Fredericksburg, VA; daughters, Phyllis Taylor (Frank), of Fayetteville, NC, Patti Bossert (Justin) of Cornelius, NC; sisters, Mary Lucille Gifford, Beverly Miner, Margaret Kue, Donna Ney; grandchildren, Thomas Bombard who is currently serving with the US Marine Corp of Okinawa Japan, Steffany Chaplin, Allie Bombard, Gregory Bowman, Gaige Bowman, Grace Taylor, Chris Seeber; great grandchildren, Hailey Jo Bombard, Gabe Bombard, Bristol Bombard; several nieces and nephews.

Along with his parents, Roger was preceded in death by his infant sister, Bertha.
A funeral mass will be held on Saturday, September 19, 2015 at 1:00 PM at St. Mark Catholic Church.  Inurnment will be held at a later date in Watertown, NY.
