MCAULIFFE

Heaven gained a handsome, quick witted Irish angel on January 28, 2016 with the passing of Robert McAuliffe of Cornelius, NC.  Bob passed away peacefully at Novant Hospital in Charlotte with his wife and family by his side.  A Long Island native and Korean War Veteran, Bob and his wife, Anne, enjoyed 56 wonderful years together.  Nowhere was there a love any stronger.  Besides Anne, he is also survived by a sister Ann Glasser, and two brothers Artie and Frank.  He was also predeceased by a sister, Eileen.  Bob and Anne have six children; Ed, Kerry, Tim, Chris, Kevin and Bobby and eleven grandchildren, all of whom adored their grandpa.  He is also survived by an endless number of friends from Long Island and North Carolina who came to know and love his contagious smile, wonderful sense of humor, and most of all, the endless love he displayed everyday for his wife and family.

A visitation will be held on Sunday, January 31, 2016 from 1-4 pm and 6-8 pm at Raymer-Kepner Funeral Home.  A funeral mass at St. Mark Catholic Church will be held on Monday, February 1, 2016 at 11 am.  Interment will be Tuesday, February 2, 2016 at 10 am at Salisbury National Cemetery, Salisbury, NC.
