Real Estate: Reggie White home to be auctioned March 12

 

Looking for a big waterfront home in Cornelius? The 16,430​-​square​-​foot home built by former Carolina Panther Reggie White will be auctioned online March 12. with a starting bid price of $1.5 million. The home at 17235 Connor Quay Court ​has​ nine bathrooms, five bedrooms, a gym with a home theater, and an elevator. ​Connor Quay is a small gated community off John Connor Road.

White, a beloved figure in the NFL and the faith community, ​had the home built in 2000 after a one​-​year stint with the Panthers. He had previously played for the Green Bay Packers and the Philadelphia Eagles. In December 2004, White passed away at 43 from complications related to sleep apnea.

Since then, the home has been rented out a few times, but the White family feels it’s time to sell. $50,000 of the proceeds will be donated to the Reggie White Dream Sleep educational fund via the non-profit Urban Hope.

Interluxe based in Charlotte will ​administer​ the online auction. They note on their website that the home carries a previous listed price of $4.5 million. The auction will begin at 9 am on March 12.
