Ray Meredith Leavitt, Jr., 80, of Huntersville went to be with his Lord on February 27, 2016. He was born on June 11, 1935 in Quincy, MA to the late Ray and Dorothy Leavitt. Ray served the Lord for 49 years in churches in NH, Trinidad, PA, MA, RI and VA. He also worked at Barrington College (RI) for 17 years. Ray enjoyed stamp collecting, especially Christian missions on stamps. He showed special interest in his children and grandchildren’s lives and treasured the many opportunities he was able to spend with them. He has passed on an amazing legacy to those he has left behind.
Survivors include his wife of 56 years, Elizabeth Grondal Leavitt; son, Stephen Leavitt and wife Sarah of Exeter, NH; daughters, Ruthie Weil of Delray Beach, FL and Rebekah Nault and husband Shane of Charlotte; sister, Jean Cossey of Clifton Park, NY; grandchildren, Timothy, Jennifer, David, Benjamin, Caitlyn and Ashley.
A memorial service will be held at 2:00 Saturday, March 5 at First Baptist Church in Huntersville with Rev. Stacy Nowell and Rev. Tina Burleson officiating. Visitation will follow in the church sanctuary.
