Oct. 28. The Lake Norman Chamber of Commerce presented awards to first responders at all three North Meck towns. 2024 recipients included: Officer David Ibarra – Cornelius Police Department, Corporal Andrew J. “AJ” Heitmann- Davidson Police Department, Detective Dillon Smith – Huntersville Police Department, Firefighter George Ross IV – Cornelius Lemley Fire Department, Engineer Wayne Erwin – Davidson Fire Department, and Firefighter Brandon Auten – Huntersville Fire Department.
