Public input sought on Smithville infrastructure improvements

Feb. 1. The Town of Cornelius is proposing several infrastructure improvements to be made in the Smithville community, and wants residents’ input.

These improvements include the extension of South Hill Street to connect to Nannie Potts Lane, widening the existing South Hill Street to include the addition of sidewalks, streetlights, curb and gutter, and adding stormwater facilities and drainage improvements to South Ferry Street.

By sharing ideas and concerns, residents can help refine projects to provide appropriate infrastructure solutions in the Smithville community.

The Town of Cornelius is seeking public comments through Friday, Feb. 10. Participants can email feedback to Tyler Beardsley, assistant town manage, or call 704-892-6031.
