More charges may be forthcoming against Anthony Andre Hampton of Charlotte. who was arrested after causing an accident in Cornelius Aug. 10 while being pursued for possible mail theft. Hampton was ultimately released on a $50,000 bond and now local law enforcement officials are asking for the public’s help in locating him.
He is wanted for 13 Counts of Larceny of a Chose In Action (Theft of Check or Endorsement), 12 Misdemeanor Possession of Stolen Goods, two Counts of Misdemeanor Larceny, and Carrying a Concealed Gun.
These are additional charges the Cornelius Crime Reduction Unit sought and obtained on Hampton from multiple mail theft reports in Cornelius.
This is still an active and on-going investigation and more charges could be developed.
