Four men broke into Harrison Precision early Wednesday, stealing four older-model shotguns, Cornelius police said.
Officers responded to an alarm at about 2:11 a.m. at 18535 Old Statesville Road. When they arrived, they found the suspects had forced entry. Police said the men entered a room inside the business, took the shotguns, and left after about 30 seconds, possibly startled by a motion-activated light.
Two of the suspects were wearing gloves, while the others appeared to avoid touching anything inside, police said.
The suspects arrived in a silver 2011–2014 Hyundai Sonata with an unknown license plate around 2:03 a.m. The vehicle was seen traveling north on Old Statesville Road from Huntersville, passing the business, then making a U-turn at Old Statesville and Bailey roads. The men reportedly entered the front parking lot before moving to the rear of the building on foot.
After the break-in, the car was seen turning onto Bailey Road and continuing past Bailey Road Park.
Police are investigating. Anyone with information is asked to call the Cornelius Police Department or Crime Stoppers at 704-896-8767.
