Planning Board meets tonight

July 8. By Dave Vieser. The Cornelius Planning Board agenda continues to shrink.

The Sunset Cove Venue proposal was pulled—for a minimum of five months—at the request of the applicant.

In addition, a proposal from developer Matt Greco to construct seven commercial flex space buildings totaling 48,000 square feet at 18636 Statesville Road, will not be heard. His plan for the 12.9 acre site also calls for adapting an existing single-family home into an office use, and constructing 17 barn-dominium units.

Greco says they are reworking the greenway alignment with the county and hopes to be back on the agenda “pretty soon.”

So, what is on tonight’s agenda?

—An application for a rezoning to permit the Cornelius History Museum to take over the Cornelius Ag building.

—Fund 26-Dogwood’s request to amend the zoning on approximately 1/3 acre of property at 21726 Aftonshire Drive. The proposed rezoning includes subdividing the lot into three buildable lots for single-family homes and associated accessory dwellings.
