Planners plan to discuss expansion plan

April 5. By Dave Vieser. Enlarging the town Planning Board will be considered by the current planners at their Monday April 8 meeting.

The current board composition is seven members, with three alternates.

Planning Director Rox Burhans said they are contemplating making the three alternates full members, which would bring the board up to 10 members.

Hw said that the restructuring is an effort to expand representation on the board. The proposal, if approved by the planning board, would still need ratification by the Town Board.

Background

Former planning chair Susan Johnson was elected to the Town Board last November, leaving a vacancy on the board which has not yet been filled. Current planning board members have been looking for replacement(s) to fortify their operation.

Planning Board members would continue to function as Board of Adjustment and Watershed Review Board members under the new structure.
