Aug. 16. With prime leaf viewing under way in higher elevations in North Carolina, fall weather arrives comes back tonight with much cooler temps. It will be mostly cloudy the rest of the day today, becoming clear and chilly tonight with a low around 43.

Saturday will be a fall stunner with a high near 61 and a nice breeze 5 to 7 mph, cooling off to 41 overnight.

Sunday is a repeat: Sunny, with a high near 66. Light and variable wind. Expect more of the same delightful weather Monday through Thursday.
