Peninsula Community Foundation grant

The Peninsula Community Foundation approved a $4,000 grant to Live Healthy Carolinas, a Davidson-based charity that provides holistic education to reverse and prevent disease. The grant will go towards materials to support the Live Healthy Kids program at Lake Norman Charter School. It teaches children healthy habits through hands-on cooking, nutrition lessons, and physical activities. The Peninsula Community Foundation was started in 2002 by residents of The Peninsula neighborhood to support local charities and the communities they serve.

Since its founding, the PCF has raised more than $1.4 million for 37 charities in North Mecklenburg Country, including Ada Jenkins, the Lake Norman Community Health Center and Classroom Central.
