No swim area marked in purple

Aug. 23. A No Swim Advisory was issued this weekend after an estimated 120 gallons of sewage spilled into Lake Norman from 18603 Harborside Drive in Cornelius.

On its website, Charlotte-Mecklenburg Storm Water Services said staff will monitor water quality in the area until bacteria levels are determined to be “suitable for human contact at which time the no swim advisory will be lifted.”

The sewage spill is located in the small cove due east of Lake House Wine Bar & Grill.
