Newsmakers Breakfast: Future of Transit
Registration is now open for the next Newsmakers Breakfast that will be held the morning of Wednesday, March 26 at The Peninsula Club.

Titled Future of Transit, the event will feature an audience-led Q&A with Bob Menzel, a Cornelius resident and board member of the Metropolitan Public Transit Authority, and Charlotte Area Transit System interim CEO Brent Cagle.
CATS and the newly-created MPTA will oversee management of the funds created by the new county sales tax increase that will go into effect later this year.

The Newsmakers Breakfast regularly brings together members of the Cornelius community to hear speakers discuss a range of topics. This year will include six events. January featured a roundtable with our town elected officials and tentative future themes include small business ownership, the downtown master plan, NCDOT road construction, and local nonprofits.
Event details
Doors open at 7:15 a.m. and the buffet-style breakfast begins at 7:30 a.m.
The Q&A session starts at 8 a.m. and concludes promptly at 9 a.m.. Attendees are encouraged to ask questions throughout the discussion.
The cost to attend is $19, which includes a full country breakfast at The Peninsula Club.
Attire is business casual.
