May 23. The Cornelius Jazz Festival, postponed due to stormy weather May 18, has been rescheduled for Saturday Aug. 24. Put on by the Parks & Recreation Dept. and the Smithville Community Coalition, the event will run from 6 pm to 10 pm at Smithville Park. No word yet on the line-up.
